Gabe is a senior editor leading Restaurants coverage for Bon Appétit, including the annual Best New Restaurants list. He covers how restaurants shape society, from dating and tipping etiquette to labor, economics, and innovative industry pros. Gabe began his career in Sports before pivoting to Food and Travel, winning awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and Society of American Travel Writers at Eater and The Washington Post. He launched the D.C. PM newsletter for Axios Local, and his writing has appeared in Food & Wine, Resy, and Arlington Magazine. Raised in Houston and educated in North Carolina, Gabe is happiest cooking over a coal fire or sitting at a deli counter. He spent 14 years in D.C. before moving to Brooklyn with his wife, Beth, and their dog, Barkley.
